What Dayward is
Dayward is a California company that does two kinds of work. The first is consulting: AI positioning, executive briefings, and translation for organizations working out what on‑device AI means for them. The second is operating production websites for a small set of clients. One person, a small number of projects, engagements with a clear end date.
Why
I spent my last years at Apple positioning on‑device AI for enterprise: the keynote decks, the positioning papers, the case CIOs took to their boards. I left convinced of one thing. A model running on hardware you own answers to you. A model in the cloud answers to whoever runs the cloud — it can change terms or close your account, and your capability goes with it. The AI on your own machine can’t be taken away.
Most organizations haven’t worked out what that means for them yet. That’s the work Dayward does.
Work
Current engagement: advising an enterprise CIO organization on Apple and on‑device AI — what the platform can do now, and how to position it internally.
Dayward also runs a small portfolio of production sites. They’re evidence for the thesis: with AI in the toolchain, one experienced person can operate systems that used to take a team.
